    Otis Lenses and Frame

    OTIS FRAME

When purchasing an Otis sunglass you can be sure you’re getting the best quality frame. Otis offers a high performance TR90 Grilamid Frame with a low weight ratio. This makes it ideal for optical engineering, allowing transparency, rigidity and impact strength. The Otis TR90 Grilamid Frame is the lightest engineering plastic making it extremely comfortable for its wearer.

Otis sunglasses are manufactured with the highest quality handmade acetate, originating from renewable resources like wood pulp and cotton fibre. Otis ensures the colour of the frames lasts with their unique approach to imbedding the hue instead of spraying over the surface. All Otis sunglasses maintain their stainless steel wires that are injected into the temples to allow for adjustability.

Otis frames are all produced with the highest quality durable 3,5 and 7 barrel hinges. Created by premium grade brand Vissottica, all Otis hinges are 100% corrosion resistant.

Otis has created a unique base curve to all their frames. The Lens Base means the front curve of the lenses, with an 8 base lens having more of a curved frame and a 6 base lens being flatter.

    MINERAL GLASS LENSES

One of the major features of Otis sunglasses is the standard fixed tint mineral glass lenses. 2.0mm thick and thermally toughened, the Otis mineral glass is a hybrid with half the weight and twice the strength of a standard crown glass lens.

Otis uses a unique approach to create a natural toughness of glass and enhance durability by chemical and thermal hardening.

Mineral glass provides distortion free vision and scratch resistance. Due to the permanent tinting in Mineral Glass, Otis lenses will never warp, peel or fade.

    TINT QUALITIES

    GREY

Standard lens tint that is versatile and produces natural vision and colouring.

    BROWN

Contrast enhancing lens perfect for bright conditions and providing glare and blue light reduction. The brown lens also allows its wearer to see sharper details.

    GREY POLARISED

Otis has created a grey polarised lenses to provide glare reduction from both direct and reflected light. The polarisation cuts glare from the surface of water, snow and roads making this an ideal lens choice for driving and high glare situations.

    BROWN POLARISED

An alternative option to the grey polarised lens, brown offers enhanced contrasting colours and sharper detail by blocking glare and blue light. This lens tint is ideal for brighter conditions.

    PRECISION POLARISED

Otis Precision Polarised glass lenses create colour enhancement, contrast and sharper vision. The polarised lenses block scattered light without losing their high quality, distortion free, scratch resistant benefits.

Otis polarised lenses differ from others on the market as they have created a tri-layered lens, engineered with an anti-glare filter placed between two lightweight mineral glass wafers.

Otis Precision Polarised Lenses also come with an Otis bevelled-sealed edge that minimalizes the risk of delamination.

Otis manufacture their polarised lenses by chemically hardening the mineral glass to provide impact resistance that passes rigorous testing and QC requirements. Otis Precision Polarised Lenses offer protection from harmful UVA and UVB rays by eliminating 99.9% of reflective glare.
